Visiting the website

When you open our pages, our server processes technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested address, browser details. This is needed to deliver and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We use no analytics or advertising trackers. Only technically necessary cookies are set: a session cookie after you sign in and a cookie for the chosen language.

Hosting

clipooo runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The database, the videos and our mail server are located there as well. A data processing agreement with Hetzner is in place.

Account

For an account we process your name, email address and an encrypted password, plus the chosen plan and the number of videos created. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Account emails (confirmation, password, notices before a deletion) are sent through our own mail server.

Creating videos

In the live studio you open your web app in a browser on our server. What is visible on that screen is recorded for the video. The browser session, including any logins made there, is discarded when the studio is closed.

Alternatively you upload a screen recording of your own. We store it on our server until the video is cut; after that only the silent, converted version is kept, from which the video is cut again when you edit the text. It is deleted together with the video. The recording’s original sound is not used.

For promo videos our server opens the public website you name and takes screenshots; the page’s texts, colours, fonts and logo are read. For pitch videos we process your description of the idea and have example screens designed for it. Screenshots, texts or the idea description are sent to Anthropic for this. We store the pictures with the video so you can change its words and look later, and delete them with it.

So that the AI can operate your app and write the narration, we transmit the page content shown in the studio (text, controls, screenshots) or stills from your uploaded recording, and your task description, to Anthropic, PBC (USA). For the voice-over we transmit the narration text to ElevenLabs Inc. (USA). Transfers to the USA are based on standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Please only record screens whose content you are allowed to process, and use test data for demos where possible. You remain responsible for personal data of third parties visible in your app; on request we conclude a data processing agreement.

Video catalog

Published videos are publicly available at clipooo.com/c/…. We count views and downloads per video, without reference to individual visitors, so that unused videos can be deleted once the retention period has passed.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland). Stripe receives the data needed for payment and invoicing (name, email, address, payment details, VAT ID where applicable). Payment details such as card numbers never reach our servers. The legal basis is the performance of the contract and statutory retention duties (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

Referral link

When someone opens a personal referral link, we store a non-reversible short value derived from the IP address to rule out multiple counts and your own visits (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention

  • Videos on paid plans: deleted after six months without a view or download, announced by email beforehand.
  • Videos on the free plan: deleted after one month without activity.
  • Account data: until you delete your account, which you can do at any time in the settings.
  • Invoice data: according to statutory retention periods.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise them, write to the email address above.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
